The premise of this novel was influenced by the far-reaching impacts of the pandemic and the shift towards home-based working.
I've always had suspicions regarding the privacy of devices that have cameras and speakers, so moving my place of work to a permanent spot in the corner of my room was unnerving and my paranoia doubled.
IF THEY KNEW stems from the ever-pervasive home working environment within a world that's teeming with technology and cybercrime.
The suspense thriller introduces Ella-Rose, a complex character who has a strong underlying current of being watched. Ella's life was forever changed by a single event, and has since tried to keep a simple, private life.
But how much privacy does a she really have? Ella is entangled in a web of betrayal and sinister secrets, and it's clear that somebody's been watching. Somebody knows.
IF THEY KNEW is set in a seemingly tranquil town in Ealing, West London and promises to take readers on a rollercoaster ride filled with unexpected twists and turns where they will explore the boundaries of trust, surveillance, and the delicate dance between friend and foe.
In a world where trust is a luxury and deception is the norm, IF THEY KNEW explores the question of how well we truly know those we hold dear. They always say it's someone you know. But how well do you really know anyone?
